Celebrities residing in Raleigh? (Durham, Chapel Hill: wood floors, movies, high school)

Branford Marsalis lives in Durham.

The guy (KC?) from KC and the Sunshine Band lives in or near Chapel Hill, I think.

Author Ariel Dorfman lives here too. Well I don't really know if he lives in Durham, but he teaches at Duke and give a reading at Regulator (which I missed...grr)

I don't think Clay Aiken actually lives here anymore, but I could be wrong. His mother owns a business in Cary right up the street from my house though.

I believe that Frances Mayes, author of Under the Tuscan Sun, lives in Durham. Lee Smith, another author, lives in Hillsborough.

And speaking of authors, I think Tom Wolfe used to live in Durham, but I'm not sure anymore.

Clay recently built a HUGE house in a GATED neighborhood in North Raleigh.

Oprah's b/f, Stedman, has a house in Durham.

Clay Aiken moved to LA but came back. He bought some huge McMansion somewhere in North Raleigh. There was a feature about it on WRAL a couple of years ago (if that long ago). For obvious reasons, they didn't give out where he lives and I am sure he has a "corporation" own the house so he can't easily be found in the online tax records.
As for other celebrities that either live in, or from, or have family in the area and come here occasionally, here's what I know:

1. Frankie Muniz from Malcom in the middle grew up in Knightdale and was even in Raleigh's Theatre in the Park production of A Christmas Carol with Clay Aiken when they were kids.
2. David and Amy Sedaris grew up in North Hills in Raleigh and went to Sanderson High School. Their dad still lives on N. Hills Dr. as a retired IBM employee who moved to Raleigh from NY in the 60's. Their brother's business can be seen plastered on the side of a panel van that services floors throughout the area: Sedaris Hardwood Floors.
3. Kristi Yamaguchi lives in Raleigh with her husband Brett Hedican of the Carolina Hurricanes NHL franchise.
4. Bill Cower lives in North Raleigh in a McMansion (could he be neighbors with Clay?). He and his wife went to NC State and I have heard that they wanted to come back to Raleigh for a long time.
5. Evan Rachel Wood ("Thirtenn", et al) was born in Raleigh is the daughter of Ira David Wood of Raleigh's Theatre in the Park.
6. Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue, etc.), born in Charlotte and grew up in Raleigh, is the daughter of former? WRAL reporter Tom Lawrence)
7. I have also heard that KC from KC and the Sunshine band has a house in the area. I heard he came to the area orginally for the Duke Rice Diet years ago...however, I don't have any substantiation of that story.
8. Many current and former NBA/NFL/NHL players with ties to the area have homes in the Triangle.

That's all I know.
