I went out to listen to The Al Strong Jazz Trio (trumpet, drums, organ) at Oliver Twist Tapas Lounge in North Raleigh last night and wanted to share a local jazz music calendar I check out from time to time to find out what jazz music is going on each week.

From this Calendar I learned that Branford Marsalis will be putting on a FREE show at Motorco in Durham next Thursday (he is in town for two shows that weekend at the Reynolds Theater).

I looked at the Motorco listing for Branford Marsalis and it looks like he is not performing but rather playing recordings of other peoples music and talking about why he selected them (he's the DJ). Still pretty cool.

I think you have me mixed up with somebody else. Never had any plans to leave Raleigh and don't recall any posts as such.

Marsalis is "in town" because he lives right here in Downtown Durham!
