My job options are either downtown Raleigh or Butner. I applied for a position but it's now frozen. My wife is trying to obtain a hospital job, not sure where she'll be.
Anyway, what's a decent community between the two? I'd rather live more towards Raleigh than Butner. I grew up out in the country (that makes Butner look like a metropolis). Just the 3 of us. We garden some now but would like a bit more space to plant some fruit trees. I'd need a decent HS that is heavy on the arts for my daughter. I don't mind driving a bit to go to the store and what not. We're in the city now and have had enough.
I was thinking north raleigh up 50, maybe creedmoor. i have friends in WF but the traffic to/from raleigh can be rough from what I've seen.
Everyone needs a change every 25 yrs. or so!
You may like Creedmoor. I don't know about the schools around here though to advise about the arts. If you look just off of Creedmoor Rd. headed towards Raleigh, there are some beautiful neighborhoods along the way. Be careful about your water supply around just north of 540 on Creedmoor Rd. I remember reading people who were not on city water having some problems but don't remember details. If you search here there will be info.
The drive from Creedmoor to downtown Raleigh is kind of a long drive.
best luck,
toodie
A high school heavy on the arts I'd think Enloe or Leesville would be good choices.
You may want to look at the Leesville/Brier Creek area. From there your wife would have easy access to Wake, Wake Med, and Duke hospitals. You would be about equal distance from downtown Raleigh and Butner.
