I am relocating in April and looking for a GOOD kickboxing gym. I don't want the Billy Blanks Tae Bo stuff. I want heavy bags, mitt work, an all around intense kickboxing workout with professionals who will help me perfect my form.

I am currently a member at Knuckle Up on the Outer Banks and am very sad to be leaving. The classes there are a mix of cardio (jumping jacks, mountain climbers, high knees, etc.), strength training (Squats, pushups, weights) and of course, kickboxing. Looking for something similar.

Thanks!

Are you looking for cardio kickboxing or the real deal Muay Thai?
Almost every place has cardio kick, but is nowhere even close to thai boxing.

Type O - Cardio, but I don't want to be punching air. So I guess really a combination of cardio and Muay Thai. =-/

Likely moving to Cary or Raleigh. I'm thinking LA Boxing will probably be where I end up joining. Anyone have any experience? Google reviews are both positive and negative!

Then I think Lifetime fitness or one of the community centers will probably be good for the cardio kick, to get some heavybags you may need a place like LA boxing.

I can be hard to find both in 1 place. What I have seen it is usually 1 or the other.

I do muay thai and you get serious cardio work in, but it is also sparring, pad work and heavybags. The main focus is to develop fighters, but i'd say 80% are there just for fitness.

Type O - where do you do Muay thai if you don't mind me asking?

I'm leaning towards LA Boxing. Going to figure out where we are going to be living before making a final decision!
