good place for Prom dresses?
My daughter is going to a prom this weekend in Johnston county and we're having a hard time locating a decent selection of dresses.
Their prom seem to be much earlier than Wake County's and most of the stores don't have them out yet. We ran into this same problem last year as well.
Has anyone seen a good selection of them out yet?

There was a store that I saw at Triangle Towne Center a couple of weeks ago and I swear I think it was called "The Prom Store" or something....it was on the 2nd level, down at the end closer to Dillard's. We noticed it because we were talking about my nephew going to the prom and his gf's dress shopping.
ETA: Just checked the store directory, it is called Savvi Prom.

We've found formal gowns at resale shops - beautiful dresses often for around $20. We've had good luck at Peterson's Consigning Design in Cary and I saw some nice ones in a resale shop in Cameron Village near the NCSU campus once.

You'd have to come to Raleigh or Durham, but David's Bridal always has tons of prom gowns. I was there over a month ago and they already had them.

Yeah, I knew they had them at David's bridal, I was hoping to avoid that store just because it's sooo far away from me but we may have to trek out there. I'll check out the prom store at the Cary Mall.
Has anyone seem them in any department stores recently? Macy's? Belks?

When I was in high school the girls were buying dresses at Cache. If that's still a store you can go there. I think there was one at Crabtree

Yep Cache is still around. Also worth checking out Goodwill this time of year.
I was in a thrift shop on Franklin Street last week and found my prom dress from the 90s in there! Well, I'm sure it wasn't mine mine, but I couldn't believe it. I almost wanted to buy it for nostalgia (and it was only $15!) but something tells me I can't fit into a size 6 dress anymore
