I'm looking for a house cleaner that can work magic, just like the one I had many many years ago. Every other Tuesday, I'd come home and feel AWESOME. Not only were my bathrooms clean and carpets vacuumed, but my huge piles of paperwork and mail were neatly stacked and tucked away. It didn't matter that it took 3 days to find my measuring cup in a random shelf, only that the house cleaner put it out of sight and made my kitchen counter clutter free. I like my house clean of germs, dust AND clutter, but most house cleaners we've used these past few years only address the first two part. I miss Zulema... and honestly, my home has never been the same since we parted ways. Can anyone recommend someone who can bring sanity to this messy home again?

I don't know any house cleaners that actually put away the clutter. People always question me when I say I am getting ready for the house cleaner to come, by "cleaning". technically I am not cleaning, but I am getting rid of the clutter so that she can actually do the cleaning. I will ask her today if she ever does the decluttering. My guess is it will cost quite a bit more if the house cleaner is putting everything away and then cleaning.

Same experience as previous poster. I needed to "clean" before having my house cleaned. I'm sure you can find those services but I would be prepared to pay double.

Watching this thread and hoping for a recommendation for someone who would come to NE Raleigh. I really need some organization help with the kids' stuff because my ideas aren't working too well.

There are professional home organizers if you want someone to come in and give you ideas. I just searched for "home organizer" and "Raleigh NC" and there were numerous hits. I have no idea what a fee for such services would be, but if you hire one, let us know how it goes!

You might want to check out LivingSocial. Offering a deal that is several hours of housecleaning and several hours of organizing your house from AMMZA Home Care & Organizational Services. Never heard of them before, but might be what you and several other posters are looking for.

Good luck.
