I think I missed the local strawberries last year since moving here just after, but I'm seeing the roadside stands setup. Any in particular?

I always buy from Smith's Produce set up on Ten Ten Road, because it's fairly convenient for me. I think they open tomorrow--I'll be there! I don't care for "Miss Madison's" (I think it is) who comes in and sets up on corner lots every year. They are from somewhere east although their signs say "local". I don't think you get as many berries in their flats, and the guy who sets up closest to me is creepy/flirty (sorry, but he is!). Probably anyone who is local has good berries...early this year, yum!

The Produce Box should be getting their boxes going soon. They deliver to me so I don't have to go pick anything out. Love, love, love this service.

Can't beat Vollmers Farm in Bunn! So much fun to pick them yourself. We just went this week... Open about a month early this year because of the warm weather. They are also grown organically, and have very clean, nice fields!

If you're on the RTP side of Raleigh, Lyon Farms is super close for pick-your-own. And there's a pick-your-own just behind Brier Creek on Shady Grove Road.

THe Produce Box starts deliveries on April 18th - yipee!

Also,, there is a great strawberry field on Ten Ten Road and Lake Wheeler. I believe they open next week.

Love strawberry season!

(Although, a few years ago, we picked a few buckets. My poor son ate strawberries until he turned red - lol)
