I noticed that on Wake Forest Rd adjacent to the strip mall with Trader Joe's, the building that used to be there hiding behind the trees has been demolished. Anyone know what is going in there?

It is either a Rite-Aid with a McDonalds in it, or a McDonalds with a Rite-Aid in it...

I don't think anything is going in there at the present time. I know the building was condemned since it had a potential for collapse and the city made the owner tear it down.

It was ITT before Alcatel and Kellogg (a telecommunications company, not the cereal company) before ITT. The facility dated to the 1950s and was an EPA Superfund site at one time. A large local employer before a drastic downsizing in the mid-1980s.

I truely hate to see that building go. I have spent many, many hours in there taking pics. I doubt I would have lived long enough to see everything that was there.....
