It's been about 12 years since I went, but I used to go out on the Captain Stacy and Continental Shelf from Morehead City. Back then both were similar.

I highly recommend the overnight trips...much less crowded, get alot more fishing for your money, and tend to catch alot more fish. I would not recommend a half day trip, as you won't get out to the better fishing grounds.
