How far is the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Huntersville area?

I love Fall and I miss the leaves changing, I loves everything with leaves, leaf prints, leaf jewerly, I guess I have a weird fascination with leaves.

From Huntersville you could be on the Blue Ridge Parkway in about 45 minutes either by going straight up I77 just over the Virginia line or by way of Hwy 21 to Sparta. Enjoy!

Go drive the Blue Ridge Pkwy in the fall, it's awesome.

The trees around here turn for a while and are pretty, but western NC is much prettier. The weather in the Raleigh area in the fall is awesome though. Perfect for about 2 months through Oct and Nov, and often into Dec.

I will find out this fall. When we looked around in Nov '04 there was nothing memorable but we had just come down from New England and were looking more for warm weather than fall foliage :-)

So far, most of the trees are still green here, though a few are turning yellow or orange. I suspect these are stressed trees from the summer drought. Having said that, there are a lot more trees such as pecans, sycamores, etc, that just do not get the same coloration as sugar maples, swamp maples, etc.

Heck - it's September 19th and I am still seeing hummingbird fights in my yard as they jockey for position on the two feeders I have and the two feeders my neighbour has. We went for our daily walk last night and still saw a couple of fireflies -- That blew me away, as they are usually gone in NE after July! Summer is definitely lasting longer here which is what we wanted
