Finally settled into the area, we need a local accountant for minor questions arising from small business (IE hobbies). Can anyone make recommendations?

thanks!

I use Glenn Borg of Balentine & Borg, which is down near the South Square Target/Harris Teeter just off 15-501. Similar need, a hobby (website) of mine was bringing in ad dollars and I wanted an accountant to handle the financial implications on my taxes and to take over our annual federal/state taxes. Glenn did an excellent job handling things like appropriate business expenses, depreciation for laptops and other equipment, and suggesting changes I might make to my federal withholding to avoid tax surprises. Since then he has also helped us with a couple of relatively challenging tax situations including the NC state historic tax credit and advice around an estate/probate matter. Glenn has reasonable rates and is outstanding -- can't recommend him highly enough.
