What tv & internet service do you recommend? It would be an apartment in N. Raleigh.

TV doesn't necessarily mean cable.... what about Direct TV?

Time Warner/Roadrunner.

Your building's probably wired for them. Good intro deals for new customers.

All service is Time-Warner's problem.

No commitment.

Many apts are not aimed correctly for satellite. Also, landlords may not permit any internal rewiring.

For an apt, I'd really say Time-Warner's a very solid choice.

North Raleigh went fiberoptic and our service is near 100% reliable.

Direct TV is ok at the Apt we're looking into. Many people have it already... including the exact apt we're moving into. Reliability isn't our main focus, but rather, what will give us the most, without paying the most.

Direct TV for TV and Roadrunner for Internet seems to be the right move for now. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on that.

Time-Warner has intro rates and DVR's aren't too much.

If you choose wisely, you can do fairly well with Time-Warner.

Time Warner is the easy answer as you can get TV, Internet and even phone from them. Problem is that they’re kinda expensive.

I’m an Internet junkie that sends and receives lots of pictures so I need better bandwidth than standard DSL offers. In my area (Wake Forest) TW offers 5Mbps download which isn’t horrible but the upload is capped at only 384kbps. Not bad but not great for hardcore gamers or people that like to upload video to YouTube.

By the way, word on the street is that AT&T (formerly Bell South) will begin offering naked DSL later this year for about 20 bucks a month. That’s a pretty sweet deal if you’d prefer to go the cheaper Direct TV route for your video needs. As for phone, most of the cool kids go cellular.

^ Thanks dude. I might look into that. As of now, like I said above, I'm thinking Direct TV for TV and Roadrunner for internet.... we'll see.
