Any feedback on Wendell, Knightdale, Zebulon, Spring Hope, Elm City, Pinetops, Bailey or Middlesex?

I lived in Wilson for 38 years before just moving to Raleigh. Wilson has a population around 50,000. Sharpsburg is a little closer to Rocky Mt. but in my honest opionion, Wilson is nicer than Rocky Mt. Crime has increased in Rocky Mt and just about everything that's worth anything is located in one area there (Along Hwy 301) If you move to Wilson, look to buy on the western/northern side where everything is building up. I can provide some nice neighborhoods to look at if you provide your price range. 3 high schools, I don't know how many elementary schools, and 2 private schools.

My husband works in Elm City and commuters from our Zebulon - Johnston County home. We love it here and found the schools a little more desirable in this area of Johnston county versus Wilson county. With that said I love Wilson and spend a good amount of time there.

We like Willow Spring area. Close to Fuquay-Varina, Cary is about 25 minutes, Downtown Raleigh is about 25 minutes and we have a horse pasture through the woods behind our house. Nice an quiet and really enjoy it. Low property taxes as well!

From what I remember of BAiley and Middlesex, they are just crossroads. Bailey is a bit bigger and has a grocery type store, service station and I believe a post office. The area of both places is quite nice. Just a stones throw from Zebulon.

Same is true for Elm City and Pinetops. Probably Spring Hope, too.

We have been looking into this area quite a bit. How are the schools? Do you find it to be family friendly?

I would recommend Clayton as well. I wouldn't want to live anywhere near Rocky Mount.

OP stated: "My husband's job is in Sharpsburg". Would you consider driving from Willow Springs to Sharpsburg on a daily basis?
