FiOS is not available anywhere in North Carolina. Verizon at one time had long-range plans to offer it here in the Triangle, but sold off its infrastructure to Frontier in 2009 when it decided to refocus on its core footprint.

Cable through TimeWarner, UVerse through AT&T (where available), or satellite.

I have lots to learn, but this is a good start -- thank you all. I'm not into "pricey", but I'm used to pretty fast internet service and need it for the work I do. Thanks again -

I would pass on this service given these monthly caps:

Monthly Data Allowance Monthly Access
10GB $60
20GB $90

Pretty steep.

I'm used to paying $90 for a bundled plan that includes basic TV/Phone/Internet. I don't know how fast my internet service is, but it's been very satisfactory. I'm quite sure I have no limit on monthly access.

Thanks for the cost of this 4g home service -- it's definitely NOT for me. Yes, very steep!

Satellite didn't work for me here in PA -- too many large trees. I'll need to check with the home association in CP to see if a satellite dish is allowed. I'm guessing Not. Thanks for the info -

Satellite dishes are always allowed...the FCC expressly forbids HOAs and other entities from banning them.

HOAs can have rules about where dishes should be placed, but even then, if you can't get a good signal at your house while meeting those restrictions, you can have it placed elsewhere on your property.
