Default Where To Look @ 175k-200k?

We're looking into possible relocation, I have two interviews lined up including one that could result in a work from home situation four days a week.

Where should we look in the area for housing that comes in at around 175k - 200k and features many younger families. We have a one year old, and school system will become important in a few years.

Housing wise, we need a three bedroom, and we'd like an area with trees and sidewalks. If that puts us in a cookie cutter neighborhood, then it does.

Any good suggestions??

The beauty of it is we can essentially look in any region, however I would almost prefer to stay to either the North, East, or South of downtown Raleigh as I may have to commute to Greenville once a week.

I've never been to Wendell, but Clayton is a very nice area, only about 20 min. from Raleigh. I've also heard that the schools in Clayton are very good. A good website I found for house searches is hpw.com. Clayton is still more affordable than the Raleigh area. I did a quick search in your price range. There are 84 listings, including several new houses. Good luck!

I like what I've seen on Wendell, how is this area? I've read that it's still affordable and growing, and should grow into a good school system in the next few years?

Is this accurate?

Wendell is part of Wake County schools but it is having problems. Wendell elementary is one of ten schools in the County recieving Title I funds but didn't meet AYP standards for several years in row.

I think the town itself is sort of cute if you like the small southern town feel, but I would probably put my kids in school elsewhere.
