Forget the Research Triangle designation, are you in the Piedmont or the Coastal Plain?
Falls Lake has several lakes, 5, I think. Some are open to gas motors some not. Six Forks Road crosses over one lake that is open to powersports, that's where the ramp is. I think some of the smaller lakes have the normal problem of contamination from run-off.
Any idea how large the lake that is open to powersports is? Nothing worse than an overcrowded lake.
I just have to ask why a number of people on this board knit pick such little things. This is the third thread I've read in as many days where people start picking apart the exact phrase used or debate what is is. I think people get the point of what someone means without having to get all worked up about it. Who cares if the say RTP, RDU or the Triangle. I think we all get that they are moving to the area. Is this some sort of a joke I'm missing?
I know that if I moved to a new area, I'd certainly appreciate being clued in on how things are said locally, so as not to stand out as someone unfamiliar with the area with a red flag proclaiming "newcomer!". Usually people appreciate being told these things, in general. It's not "criticism", it's not "getting worked up about it", it's just "FYI, if you care".
That's like the road in North Raleigh. Technically, the name is Falls of Neuse, but everyone calls it Falls of The Neuse (or just Falls). There was a great thread about things like this that newcomers should know, but I can't find it. Maybe someone else can use Search better than me.
Do you mean this thread? I don't think we had the "Falls of THE Neuse" quirk in there. It should be renamed Falzathenoose.
