I can handle the abrasivness, there just needs to be someone else on the show to counter him. Mike,Kristen,Madison were good at that. The current line up is Bob and 2 cheerleaders. One has a lick of sense but not the fortitude to really argue against him.The other might as well be sitting in daddy's lap.
I've just resolved to listening to NPR and my Podcasts on my commute. Bob is a troll. Brooke is the only one with some sense. And no one stands up to him, even when he's pushing folks around.
What does the First Amendment have to do with this? No one's talking about enacting any laws restricting Dumas from saying such crap.
If people speak out against his ignorance, it's not violating his First Amendment right. If people stop listening to his drivel, it's not violating his First Amendment right. If he's fired for his verbal caca (we can only hope!), it's not violating his First Amendment right.
If he were to be jailed for saying such things, that would violate his First Amendment right. But since no one has suggested that he should be thrown in the pokey, this isn't a First Amendment issue.

I don't even understand why Big Weather from Channel 11 even is so chummy with Bob?! I can understand him doing the weather, but Bob is always pulling him into his shenanigans.

Yeah lol I am wondering that myself. I have been teaching a few early morning classes so I have been in the car earlier, around prime time for those morning shows. The one or two times I have flipped around to that station, he's managed to start talking poorly about black people, so I quickly turned the bluetooth on and listened to my Podcasts, and start talking about how homeless people want to be homeless.
Again, it's NPR or the podcasts I subscribe to. I can't deal with this anti-gay, anti-black, anti-homeless, blah blah thing that is so prevalent in morning shows, ESPECIALLY theirs. It is SO embarrassing that THIS is what people hear when they move here, but hopefully they get out and see that some of us are actually nice and have brains in our heads.
Seems like the times that I get in my car and the station is still on G105 from my commute home the day before, these Showgram yahoos are either talking about sex (sometimes rather graphically), bodily functions (also graphically) or Bob is proselytizing, all of which turn me off. I've found that switching over the the classical station vastly improves my start to the day.

How can the Triangle progress with this as the supposedly #1 station?
Bob has been on a roll this week and I have had it with him! I sent him a message that he should stop holding the most progressive area in NC back.
How can Paula Deen get fired and Bob is still on the air for 20 years? It also seems like "Peanut Butter" is scared to stand up for herself. Erica said this week that she used to not stand up to Bob, but she will now she says.
The word used to be that Madison (I'm a NC native-listened back in middle/high school when she was still there) left for another station after Bob would not stop making racist and sexist remarks to her and it got to be too much. I don't know how true it is but it is surely not hard to believe.
Peanut Butter made a comment the other day saying that you knew Elvis was dead because if he was alive, he would have showed up to do something about his daughter marrying Micheal Jackson, then Bob speaking in Ebonics making fun of blacks- on and on and on. He is just propagating hate and not doing anything to help the area at all.
There are black people and bi-racial people listening. My middle school son gets a kick out of them for some reason and asks to tune in once in a while and it makes me cringe. Most of the time, I don't allow it. The station proves me right every single time. One lady told them she refused to listen because they make people ignorant!! It's SO true!!!
They had G105 at my kids school as the special guests last year and I refused to go. One of the worst parts to me is that they even try to blend Jesus in every once in while! I messaged them this week and told them that to be Southern politically correct does not equal God being with their agenda. He is always slamming interracial couples, I mentioned that they should read Numbers 12 if they claim to be Christian. God smote Miriam (with leprosy)- Moses mother for talking down to him for marrying the Ethiopian woman.
Bob wants people to see him as a "Good Ole Boy-Southern Racist Christian". Isn't that ironic?
This week he keeps talking about a "lily white" lady in a grocery store who was changing the baby in the cart. " And she wasn't even a colored lady", he said!!! My whole car fell silent! I turned and said, "See, I told you Bob was a total A$$". Who even says colored anymore? That's why I sent him the message about holding a progressive city back. It is a shame that is the #1 station in the Triangle. I told him it wasn't worth the ratings for the damage he is actually causing and that my bi-racial son liked the station but I could not let him listen regularly because the ignorance will not contribute to making him a strong man some day. After they have heard these comments for themselves-they agree that Bob does suck!
And btw- yes, they also are talking about disgusting sexual things in the mornings!
Apparently there's a shortage of car audio specialists in the Triangle. Who know all of these cars had defective radios. To be stuck on one channel...blech! I'd be ticked off too. Let's start a petition! Let's boycott! Let's burn down the antenna so they can't broadcast!
Thank God my stereo is functioning properly because I hate G105's morning show. Luckily I have the whole range of the dial to make a selection from so I don't have to listen to their schtick. (Woody and Wilcox is my morning drive)
