I just responded to your other post about "The Village". For that size home with a decent amout of yard with some privacy, you would have to purchase or build in Pineville West.

Peachtree is trak build to to give you more sqft but lots are TINY with no privacy. Some of them even back to a ravine.

My son goes to RiverDell Elementary which is awesome so we have no middle school experience yet.

However, we love our neighborhood.

Test scores released yesterday for all NC schools. May answer some of your questions/concerns. Here are all of Johnston County school scores.

Thanks bluecomet. I appreciate the information. I was surprised by some of them! That's a nice clean breakdown though.

I really liked some of the homes in Garner on the JoCo side but between the break ins, living next to power sources, and lots of people telling me the schools are so over crowded...I think we're still looking at Clayton.

Default Do not send your child here!!!

As a former student of Archer Lodge, I recommend you STAY AWAY. Dr. Huddleston, the principal, is nothing but a rude woman. She does not care about the well being of the students, she is rude, and not helpful at all. The teachers are not that great either. I would drive the extra few minutes and take your child to Riverwood.

FWIW on the Johnston County side that's not really Garner. I get it, the mailing address is Garner, but it's not actually Garner.

Either way, I would highly recommend Clayton over the 40/42 area "JoCo Garner." It's much better. Riverwood Middle is very good. My nephew didn't like Clayton Middle, but I have heard other people say it was pretty good. I haven't heard anything bad about Archer Lodge Middle, but I'm not going to discount what other people on the board have said either. It might be a bit of a drive if you are working in Raleigh, but you may also want to check out Wilson's Mills.

Note that this thread is four years old. I don't think the OP ever moved here. As of 2014 when they last posted, they were still in Maryland and trying to decide between Las Vegas and San Antonio.
