It may help to know what your boyfriend likes. Being a guy I am going to suggest Rush Hour Karting.

If you are cool with strip clubs, Pure Gold is the place.

If you want him to get a huge burger, take him to Angus Barn in the Wild Turkey Lounge. They have the biggest burgers on planet and it's a bar with TVs. If he likes to smoke a cigar, they have a Cigar Lounge as well.

As someone who has been 30 and also treated to this, I would suggest taking him to Angus Barn and to the Cigar Bar they have set up in one of the old meat lockers out back. Even if you both don't smoke, it's really nice and they bring you through the kitchen to the locker that overlooks Glenwood Ave.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I'm interested in restaurants and lounges. I plan on checking out the Angus barn and perhaps a few breweries. I appreciate the help.

I went to a birthday party at Solas @ Glennwood south, downtown. We had a rooftop VIP cabana. There was a limit of 12 guests per cabana and each cabana had to spend a minimum of $500. (I think....I'm still working on my 1st cup of coffee.) They had other VIP areas too.

Or do an R-Line party. Start in Glenwood South for cocktails and apps, jump on the Rline, go to Warehouse district, say Humble Pie, and sit outside for dinner, then jump back on the bus and head to Moore Square to either Lincoln, or Tirnanog, or PourHouse to see some music, then back to Glenwood South. It is lots of fun, and much cheaper than renting a place.

Along those same lines, you could do a brewpub tour or a progressive dinner tour through downtown via Trolley Pub. Looks fun!
