I think Hasentree has wells for watering. I know that Hidden Lakes in Franklin county has wells & cisterns, & grey water systems & rain barrels.

Driving past Porto Fino the other day, I saw that they put up numerous signs saying they irrigate with well water... they must have had lots of complaints!

If we miss the fall seeding, it will be another year of absolutely no grass in our yard. I'm not talking about brown grass that will perk up when it rains. That's normal. I'm talking about bare dirt.
I'm in the same situation. We had construction in our yard for a year, and now that we're finally finished, the whole yard is bare dirt. We just put a new layer of topsoil down yesterday. If the grass doesn't get watered, we'll have a lawn of dirt for another year. And our HOA will freak. IMO, that's completely different than just reseeding a lawn that already has some grass.

Anybody know the site for the Cary seeding permit?

Where did you get the topsoil from andhow much did it cost? I need some too but can't figure out where to get it from. Did you have it delivered?
Thanks!

It was actually a compost blend. (Topsoil with other... nutrients mixed in) It was $20 per sqft. Topsoil is $15.
We might have gotten a discount though because the company that's doing our seeding bought it for us. But I don't think they got a contractor's discount.

We got it delivered from American Soil & Mulch

I had about 6 cu yds of that delivered today from the same place. Wife actually paid for it, but I think it was around $200 including the $45 delivery fee. In retrospect, we should have gotten 10 cu yds which would have been free delivery.

Hey tycorc. Do you mean $20 per cubic yard? At $20 per sqaure foot that is some mighty expensive compost blend!

lamishra--you're up around Wake Forest, right? We usually use Mulch Masters on Durant. They have a website that lists their products and the prices. I forget the address for the site, of course.

Haha yes. Mix up in words. Can't imagine how expensive that would be for .47 acres.

How exactly do you measure to know how much you need? I've never ordered it before.
