What do you tip the Rickshaw "drivers" if they take you, let's say, 4 blocks?

I thought they don't charge and strictly make money based on tips which is at your discretion

Okay, I just have to laugh at this because all I picture is Kramer's rickshaw pulling/employ the homeless program that he wanted to start on Seinfeld, and with the rickshaw being stolen.

It is up to you, but I never hop off one of those things without giving the guy/gal at least $5 for lugging me and my wife any distance. It is at your discretion but $1/block is probably what many consider a good rul of thumb.

Oh that's good to know if that's the case. I just assumed there was a rate per block or something!

I agree that about $1/block is a good rule to follow. Especially when going uphill.

Thanks all! I'm planning a little surprise for a friend and thought it would be fun to take one of these from one location to the next. I know they work off tips, but I wasn't sure what was the norm.

LOl-that's what I picture!
And... I saw a help wanted ad for these and it appears the only money they make is whey you "tip" them!!
