Getting some really great stuff here, folks - this is what I was hoping for - advice from my local, trustworthy friends on C-D. C-D delivers yet again. Keep it coming.

Boone. Kids love Blowing Rock.

Like the PP's, I'd go to Boone/Blowing Rock and hit up Tweetsie, Mast general Store, the zoo area at Grandfather Mountain, the park in the center of Blowing Rock and gem mining.

Yes, my kids love to go to Blowing Rock park and go to Kilwin's across the street for ice cream and fudge.

There is a home game. My son went to App State, so I follow them. Its fun to go to the football games, but you do have to book hotels early.

Did you know there's a Kilwin's in Cary? High House and Davis. I've only been to the one in Blowing Rock though.

Didn't know there was one in Cary, but I knew it was a big chain. Started in Michigan. There's something special about the one in Blowing Rock because of the location. I've had better ice cream and fudge, but it's a lot of fun to get a cone and take it across the street to the park and let the kids run and play.

Yep, we like to stop there on the way home after soccer games at Thomas Brooks Park. It's usually pretty empty which is funny because the ones in Blowing Rock and Wilmington both usually have lines out the door!

I agree. That's probably why we've never been to the one in Cary.
