If you are taking kids you can do like my parents and totally
bypass the whole booth game section.

I was 20 before I realized that section was at the fair.

We did the animal barns, a few rides, and all the free
exhibits.

Mom always had to get a ham biscuit from the same church
place...

I'm pretty sure they're offering the "preview day" deal again. $25 lets you ride till your heart's content on Thursday. Since its a "preview" they caveat that all rides may not be open.

silverflash is on a distinguished road
a recent discovery of mine is that county fairs are almost as good if not better than the state fair. to me at least. why? easy parking. cheaper food. no super long lines. I just went to the lee county fair. it was a super great time all around! and really cool rides!!

check them out. google north carolina county fairs for upcoming ones.
