I am at my wits end trying to find someone who will show up to my house and do a small HVAC job. It seems most contractors just want to do a full install/replacement which is not what I need. I bought a new ductless mini split and I have installed 95% of it myself. I just need a pro to come make the final hookup, leak test, pull a vacuum, and open the valve to release the precharge.
So if you know someone willing to take on this small job in Cary, please let me know. I pay very well. I just need someone who can show up with the right tools. Thanks in advance.
try to find a tech from a company that will do a side job on his own time. I cant see a company coming out for this at all.
This is what I was doing, finding people on craigslist who moon-light, and it wasn't working. They either showed up and had no idea how to flare a copper line, or simply didn't show up or call back when they said they would. Craigslist seems to be a wasteland of HVAC flunkies.
Anyway someone DM'ed me a pro, and the job is done now. I really appreciate all the advice.
Strongly recommend Justin Woodlief. Over the years he has done a significant amount of work for me and others I know. Honest and fair.
I also recommend Justin as well, he replaced my upstairs AC system when it failed in August. Was able to fit us in on a Saturday so we didn't have to endure any additional time without AC.
You might have a challenge finding someone to do what you are asking (or find that they try to charge you alot more than you think it should cost to finish off the installation). They make a decent amount of profit on marking up the equipment they sell, so in essence you have taken that money from them by purchasing it on your own and doing some of the easier parts of the installation. If I were in the technician's position, if I knew you and had worked with you in the past, I may do it for a reasonable cost, but if I were a larger company or a random person who had never worked with you as a client before, I would be really hesitant that there wouldn't be enough money in the job, or it would be too much hassle.
