are there any children friendly hair cut places around? i would prefer one of those "just for children" kinds of places, where the seats are cars and animals, etc.

Where are you? There is a Snip-its in Apex and one at Brier Creek. There's a JJ Kids Cuts in Raleigh. There's also a kid's salon across from South Point.

We like snip-its in Brier Creek...just the kind of place you describe.

$18. I sometimes come across $4 off coupons. It's a very nice place. They have animal crackers and lolipops for the children and they get a prize after their haircut. They have regular chairs though and play their own movies which aren't as good as JJ Kids Cuts (which used to have a Cary location) where you got to pick out a video. Overall it's pretty nice.

JJ Kids Cuts is the best. My son hated Snip Its...too noisy and just too much going on in general. Plus the "chairs" at JJ's are awesome. My son always loves sitting in the fire truck or police car for his haircut.

I was sad when JJ Kids Cuts left Cary because they are right next to our house and we were one haircut away from our free haircut. It's not worth it for us to drive to Raleigh. My experience there was kind of hit or miss. I had some great stylists and some horrible ones. Staff turnover seems very high in these places.

I know I wouldn't last a day in a job like that!

I know. Everytime I go in one and there's a screaming child (and my son was one of them last year) I nearly lose it. I can't imagine trying to deal with that every day.

We had pretty mixed experiences with JJ Kids in Cary too. Now we've been going to the Cost Cutters in Harrison Pointe, and so far we've been getting better haircuts at a better price ($11) and the kids love the toys they get at the end.
