We are looking for short-term rental options (homes or apartments) and are having a heck of a time locating anything for 3 or 6 months. Most want 9 months if not 12 months. Has anyone recently had success with short term rental options? If so, please share!

Thanks

I don't know what area you'd prefer, but Crabtree Crossing in Morrisville (919-380-9595) offers short-term rentals.

I stayed in a Korman Communities corporate apt when I moved back to the area. They're not cheap, but they are very flexible with rental terms and come fully furnished including linens and kitchen utensils. That was 5 years ago, however. Good luck.

We just rented a 2yr old townhouse in a great section of Raleigh for 6 months. We have the option to either buy it or continue renting on a month to month basis after the 6 months. We want to buy another house and wanted to get acquainted with the area so it was perfect for us.

We found alot of willing landlords to rent for 6 months with the whole 6 months + 1 month security up front. Other then that it was apartment complexes. Good Luck. Did you try Craigs List? I made contact with quite a few willing landlords.

A lot of places will do short term rentals. It will be more expensive than a year term, naturally.

Try the online rental databases; Apartments for Rent and Homes for Rent and Apartment Search: Find an Apartment to Rent with Fast, Easy and Free Online Apartment Search

We used the first one and got $100 M/C back and found a 3 month rental. The 2nd link, I think offers $200 back. They basically just put you through directly to the rental location.

Many places may not advertise short term rentals but will offer them if you ask......the rent increases with the shorter the lease term.

Not sure what area you have in mind but if in the Wake Forest area Caveness Farms had 3 months leases. Not sure if they just went with 7 month leases.

I have a friend who has his home up for rent for I believe $1100/month, which includes access to the community swimming pool and weight room in a new subdivision. I would have to ask him the particulars of the house if you are interested.
