Any suggestions for Christmas Eve services? I know Christ Episcopal Church downtown has three services, one at 11pm. It's beautiful, but get there early.
Sacred Heart Cathedral has mass at 4pm in the Cathedral, school hall, and Clarion; 6pm in the Cathedral and Clarion, 7:30 in the Cathedral (7:30 in the school hall in Spanish), 9pm in the Cathedral, and midnight mass in the Cathedral. Get there early for the doubled up masses if you want to be in the Cathedral, and early to midnight mass if you want to sit! It's a beautiful place to worship.
When my family still regularly went to the UU church on Wade Avenue they always had a nice Christmas Eve services.
About six years ago we went to St. Michael's in Cary. It was okay but not something I'd go out of my way for. From Apex I'd probably just head over to one of the churches in downtown Raleigh.
We attended Christmas Eve services in a barn last year at Page Farms. With animals, hay bales and a real creche.
While we normally attend a different church, the All Saints UMC folks were very welcoming.
Over the years, we've attended Christmas Eve services at many different churches - from the National Cathedral in DC to a barn. I think we'll be back in the barn this year ...
