I would NOT recommend Trosa... They estimated my job would take 6 hours and it took THIRTEEN!!! And of course they change by the hour. This was a LONG day and not a very 'fun' experience in moving to my new house. I would recommend going elsewhere...
I'm really surprised to hear about your experience with Trosa. I've never had anything but a great experience. Can't imagine such a turn around. I hope when you voiced your displeasure and they offered some compensation in some way.

Yes, they only did charge me for the 6 hours originally quoted in the end after having to complain to some sort of upper management. In the end it was not worth it. Moves can be a stressful time as it is, but for something to take 13 hours that should have taken 6 made it worse. We actually had 2 quotes, one was a month prior and the other was the day of the move. Both quotes were right at 6 hours.
The main issue was that I was given a 'rookie' crew. If you ask for an experienced crew maybe things would have been better. We also heard many good things about TROSA (along with the great cause). I just wanted to share my experience and let folks know to be prepared for anything...
We used Allied when we moved out of Durham. We were very pleased with their service. We got at least three quotes and went with them. We packed ourselves but we were able to get free boxes from the Allied warehouse (some of the boxes were gently used some were brand new- even dish boxes!)
I've used "All the Right Moves" here in Raleigh and will be using them again soon (hopefully). I recommended them to a friend and they were very pleased as well. Their quote was reasonable and the two man crew actually finished early. If they go over the estimated time you only have to pay 10 - 15% of the overage (it's been a year so I don't remember the percentage exactly).
Just a note about Trosa. They are a court ordered drug rehab program for criminal offenders. not the type I want in my home. the employees are not paid to work there. they work for their room and board. this is how the company can afford cheaper rates. i have done a lot of investigating on movers in the area before selecting. i would recommend you investigate and check with bbb and angies list type sites.
We used TROSA, with full knowledge of who the employees were. They arrived on time, expeditiously and courteously did the move and I couldn't have been happier. I gave them a tip and received a letter from TROSA thanking me for the additional donation to their program. Before you judge the men that work through TROSA remember that they are supervised and would no doubt not want to jeopardize their status by doing something stupid on job. You have no idea who or what you are actually getting through some of the other mover's programs (or of they will actually show up--as a friend of mine had that situation) It's too bad that your move was under estimated, but it sounds like all's well in the end. I was totally impressed by the fact that they arrived, loaded up (I had done alot of the packing ahead of time so that I would have an idea of where my stuff was) drove to the new house and unloaded much more quickly than estimated...so much so, that when my boss asked me to get a mover for our office move, I unequivocably indicated that we would be using TROSA for our needs!
I used Movin' On Movers a couple of years ago. Someone from their office visited our location to give a quote and it was just a fixed price for the move.
The day of the move was great. Guys were there on time at 9am and were quick and careful. Even emptying a 2br apartment and stopping by my storage unit to pick up even more stuff they were at the new location and unloaded in less than 4 hours. By lunchtime we were sending them on their way with a tip and starting to rip into boxes.
We used 2 Men too, and we did have some quarms, with them & there quote, however it did get resolved by the end of the move. The workers very nice & helpful, and worked their bottoms off. I would try them again, I think they were fair in the end and I expect/hope there would not be any issues again.
When a friend on mines moved down here they used Triangle Movers & Shakers. TRIANGLE MOVERS AND SHAKERS. I was kind of worried because I did not know much
about the company. She told me that they were freindly, courteous, and punctual.
The charged a flat rate which was based on a in-home estimate. I did some research
and found their testimonials to be impeccable.
