Briggs is great and the Blue Fin in Heritage Station does a nice Brunch on Sundays.
Is Briggs the type of restaurant where one can stroll in wearing jeans, a t-shirt and ball cap? Is it like your basic family restaurant? I'm looking for a nice relaxing place where you can go in, eat and not worry about how you're dressed. Kind of like a waffle house with a bigger menu.

No, it's not any sort of Waffle House. You can certainly wear jeans, I'd say more then half the tables were in casual clothes the few times I've been there, but it's not even close to a Waffle House.
I second (or is it third by now) the vote for Pipers.
I live in Wake Forest too so I've been following this thread. My two cents - I enjoy Brigs, but I find it more expensive and maybe a little more "polished" (?) than the casual/diner-style breakfast I crave. I usually do IHOP or Waffle House instead.
Can anyone expand on the Piper's recommendation? Is it Piper's Tavern you're talking about? (I didn't know they served breakfast or brunch.)
We went to Briggs for the first time this past Sunday. Our utensils had stuck-on dried food, and we found it very pricey.
