Have used Sclafani brand San Marzano canned whole tomatoes for many years and it is always difficult to find. The brand is more easily found in the the New York region. Kroger, Food Lion, Aldi, Harris Teeter, Target do Not carry. Has anyone seen this brand in any store or have any store suggestions in Cary? thanks.

I immediately thought of Capriflavors, but according to their website they don't carry this brand. I don't doubt that they would have a very good, close alternative.

You might also try Whole Foods. I also found this information on a website promoting the quality of San Marzano Tomatoes, so you might try the manufacturer for a local resource, or at least be able to order them online.

I have not found Sclafani in any local stores. Internet is probably the only way other than packing the trunk on your next visit to the northeast.

Capri does carry their own branded San Marzano tomatoes, which, IMO, are very good and fairly priced. Worth a try.

I think Fresh Market carries San Marzano. I know I bought them there once. I love using a combination of San Marzano and Tuttorosso when I make sauce

I dont think I have ever tried Scalfani I used La Bella San Marzano Tomatoes which are pretty popular. Not sure if you want to give them a try. I know the teet sells them. I usually buy cases of tomatoes when I visit the parents up north.

I get the Nina brand from Costco and they are pretty nice if you are looking for a substitute brand.

I've been told grocery stores in the area (more specifically Harris Teeter) will special order items like this for you. And if they continue to sell, they will keep them in stock. Try that route
