I used to love walking through my neighborhood in the evening in Texas because the chance of encountering deer was high. They were quite skitish however; easily spooked into flight and they don't look both ways.

I've only seen a few in this part of the country. Unfortunately I see more near the roads than I care to and I'm sure they are just as excitable as those back in Texas. Not a pretty combination.

I love to see them. They're so peaceful looking. I feel bad though most of the time because more and more of their "homes" are being cut away and shrinking because of the construction and the homes being built. I saw a white one about two weeks ago. But by the time I got to my camera, it was gone. Darn!
