Poole's Diner (open Tues - Sat until midnight)
Beasley's or Chuck's if Thurs-Sat (open til midnight, more casual vibe)
buku (late night is 10 pm - until....)
Raleigh Times
The Borough (recommended on here before)

Also makes a difference if you are looking for a weekend night because more places are open later Thurs - Sat

Buku is absolutely excellent. My husband and I first went there one a theater/dinner date last year and have gone back several times since. They have "small plates" that are meant to be shared tapas-style or "large plates" that are typical entrees. We usually go for the small plates so we can sample more things, and haven't found one yet that we didn't like. The atmosphere is nice: modern, elegant, but not at all pretentious.

Does Raleigh even have any 24 hour diners? Besides the chains?

I believe "The Diner" on Glenwood South is 24/7 it's been a while since I've been there however.

It has been a while, it closed at least a year ago. Too bad, we liked the place.

How "fancy" are you looking? Most of the places mentioned are pretty casual--but that's generally the kinds of places open that late.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Five Star on Hargett yet. I like a number of the other places mentioned as well, but Five Star has consistently been my preferred go-to spot for post-event dining downtown. And unlike many of the other places mentioned, Five Star is open late seven nights a week (I believe, or at least I've never gone there after a concert or something on any night of the week and found them not to be open).
