I'm wondering if there would be any interest from other Christians if I were to volunteer to lead a book study through a relatively new book,
I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist by Norman Geisler and Frank Tourek...
One possible place to get the book:
eStore - equip.org
It defends Christianity as the "most reasonable" faith choice of all. Here's a breif synopsis from the site above...
All worldviews, including atheism, require faith. "I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist" argues that Christianity requires the least faith of all because it is the most reasonable. The authors lay out the evidence for truth, God, and the Bible in logical order and in a readable, non-technical, engaging style. A valuable aid to those interested in examining the reasonableness of the Christian faith, Geisler and Turek provide a firm challenge to the previous beliefs of doubters of all sorts.
It's a great book, but I'll bet there are Christians out there that are intimidated by this kind of information. Perhaps you might be interested in learning how to defend your faith in a logical way, if you had someone to help you understand those concepts.
Or maybe you've gone to church all your life, and feel a little defenseless in terms of your knowledge of why Christianity is a good choice. You know you should share your faith, but you don't feel like you know enough. This book can really help you.
Anyway, if anyone might be interested in this kind of guided learning thing... where we all read the same text and then meet together to discuss it... then I might think about organizing something.
Just kinda bouncing the idea around in my head...
Caveat:
This is not a class in any particular church.
