Are dealers required to inspect a used vehicle before they sell it here? We went to look at a truck at a little nothing dealership and the check engine light came one. We're wondering if they have to have it inspected or if we would need to if we bought it. Thanks!

No they are not. Neither are private party sales.
As for the other (required annual) inspection... it's a complete money grab farce.

You are **completely** on your own.
Absolutely take the car to YOUR mechanic to have hm check everything out.

You will not pass inspection in an emissions county if the check light stays on.
