Hmm...can you be more specific about things you like to do and eat?
I'm confused about the looking for work part too. Why are you looking for work if you're in corporate housing? Isn't your company paying for that?

Welcome to Durham! My husband and I just relocated from South Jersey. We love to go to 9th street and Brightleaf Square. Both off of Main St. Very cool shops and dining. There's tons more to do around here, but so far that's all we've found.

Hi AlleyP,
we relocated from the Boston area, too, about 2.5 years ago. We love Durham--I hope you like it too.
What kind of work are you looking for?
Durham is making a reputation as a great place for dining, so you shouldn't have trouble finding good food to eat.
Suggestions include: Piedmont, Rue Cler, Alivia's, the Federal, Watts Grocery, Locopops (not food, just popsicles), Guglhupf, Foster's Market, Nana's, Four Square...
for things to do, this depends on what you enjoy and what your family situation is. Are you single? do you have small children to entertain? You can check the listings of performances at Duke.. There's the Nasher museum and Duke Gardens. Music almost every night at the Broad Street Cafe (although your music options are more abundant in Chapel Hill or Raleigh). There are walking trails in Duke Forest, and there's the American Tobacco Trail, too, for walking/blading/biking.

What kinds of things do you like to do? We can help you find stuff if we know what you're looking for.
