Southern Living Magazine named Durham the Tastiest City in the South, beating out Asheville, Memphis, Miami and New Orleans. The South's Tastiest Town: Durham, NC - Southern Living

With a reverence for life’s everyday pleasures (we’re talking coffee, beer, pizza, and pie here), a passionate mix of chefs, farmers, brewers, bakers, and baristas have quietly transformed Durham into one of the hottest food destinations in the South.

What do you think about the food & drink offered in the Bull City?

I think Southern Living is right. From food trucks to fine dining, Durham has it all over the competition.

Durham has the best restaurants in the Triangle, and it has been that way for a while. Kudos to Durham for some well-deserved recognition.

Agreed! Working in Durham for many years I have delighted in watching the transformation. It's a city with lots of character and there is much more to come!

My favorites are Four Square and Nana's, in order. I do miss Magnolia Grill (it would have been in my top three). I've always like Rue Cler, Pops, etc. I enjoy some of the more simple restaurants, like Blue Corn Cafe. Just a few off the top of my head, and I'm sure there are a lot of others I've missed...

Having eaten extensively in Durham, Asheville and Memphis, I could agree that Durham has the most good restaurants, but the competition is fierce.

I just ate at Wicked Weed in Asheville and it was amazing.
