A friend of mine goes to Stage 2 in Durham on Guess Road and loves it. Won't go anywhere else. Not sure what they charge.
I'm still looking for a good person to cut curly hair for under $50....

I have longish thick, straight hair and I go to Britt at JF Gemelli, the Cary Park location. She does a great job on my hair and I get frequent compliments on it. It's a simple style, but a really great cut. I highly recommend her and I've sent several friends there and they loved her too.

You should try Michelle at Nijonal Salon, it's inside Sola Salon in Cary/Morrisville.
She is a one woman show and she is awesome

There should be a club! And, why is it that thick hair can bump up the price of a cut yet thin hair folks get no discount?

I've had good experiences with several different stylists at Moshi Moshi. Their prices are reasonable too, I think it's around $35. They're the first salon I've been really happy with (with regards to price, knowing latest styles/techniques, and quality) since moving here four years ago from Chicago.

I was going to someone in Fayetteville when I was in Fort Bragg and as sweet as he is I just wasn't crazy about the cut. I don't want to have to staighten it every day and the way he layers my hair only looks ok when straight and I have wavy/curly hair. And I've heard the same comments aout the thickness of my hair. I was born with it not much I can do about it so I would have more respect for a stylist if they just said straight out that they dont work with thick hair instead of overcharging me and insulting me. I will definitely look into some of these stylists people have mentioned!

Honestly some of the best haircuts I've gotten around here is at the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill. You just have to have the time for it since the student cuts your hair and the instructor comes frequently to check on their work and fix it up. And I'd rather pay $20 for a so so haircut than $80!

I've had good experiences with several stylists at Posh, near Brightleaf Square in Durham. I have long, thick, wavy hair and I have always gotten good cuts there. I particularly like Jill, but I've had a few stylists and I've liked them all.

I looked up Moshi's website and I have to say it is by far the cutest out of all the recommendations I have seen Who have you gone to? Their prices are very reasonable too

Dianne's Hairstyling in Wake Forest. She has a shop at her home and is very affordable and talented. She can do it all cuts, blow dry, perms, straightening, color, highlights, etc.
919-266-7672 I have very thick curly hair and she can handle it just fine!
