I have never been on a horse before, and I would like to try it.
Anyone know anyplace in Raleigh that has horseback riding?
I prefere a place that can give some instructions.

Thanks

Are you looking to ride regularly and receive instruction in a specific style of riding? If so what style? My favorite is huntseat and have spent most of my time with this style, though do western recreationally and have done a tiny amount of dressage.

Or are you just looking to experience riding but not on a continuuing basis? If so then I would recommend a trail ride. It is to bad that the place at Umstead closed down...it was by far the best trail ride in the area. There are a couple alternatives now but I have not been to them yet.
Dead Broke Farm
Rainbow Horse Ranch
There are a couple more but can't remember their names. Trail rides have become a lot more expensive since the one at Umstead left. We used to ride for an hour for $20 now they are all around $40 for an hour. For instruction in a particular style of riding it will still be around $40-50 an hour. This is why I no longer ride though hope to get back into it someday, its just such an expensive hobby.
