My husband was recently asked to relocate to Dudley NC. From what I gather, Dudley is in the middle of nowhere. We have an 18 month old daughter and a son due in September. We would love to live somewhere that is very family oriented and has great schools. My husband is ok with a commute to Dudley. We noticed that Goldsboro is the closest to Dudley but saw many mixed reviews on crime. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Dudley is too far from the Triangle area for this to be the best forum to ask in. You could try the general NC Forum.

I assume he works for Ga Pacific?

I think this website will help you.

HotPads - Map Search for Apartments and Homes for Rent, Real Estate, Foreclosures and Homes for Sale

It lists houses and the exact schools your children would go to based upon the street address.
It's got rentals, foreclosures and traditional "for sale" homes.
All with a great map.

Bo, I suggested Clayton if they didn't mind a longer commute. I think it would be about 45 min to 1 hr to Dudley. I don't imagine traffic would be bad.
