I have some items that I would like to have "re-purposed" for our kids. I need a jeweler who is comfortable working in silver and in gold, and I'd really like to stay in Durham/Chapel HIll if possible.
Can anyone recommend a talented, trustworthy craftsman for me to call?
I HIGHLY recommend Jewelsmith in Durham.
We had a custom piece made 3 years ago which is incredible. We chose a design ourselves. They drew a pic, made a wax cast which we had to approve before the final piece was created. They have several goldsmiths that work right on the premises.
During our visits, we saw several people coming in to have wedding rings, engagement rings redesigned/recreated etc.
This. Great store with an incredibly helpful staff. Plus with three jewelers, all of whom have different styles, I'm sure they can provide different artistic options for you to consider. They're quite skilled in all metals - my wedding band and my wife's set came from there and we've received nothing but compliments
