All along Fayetteville street. Should have at least 70 trucks. Runs from 4-9pm this evening. They have porta johns and tables.
Yes, these things get crowded and yes the lines get long. There are faster ways to enjoy food trucks, but it is a fun way to see all the trucks, try one or two and do some good people watching while enjoying an evening downtown on a nice summer day.
Tips
1. Go early - like 15 minutes before it starts.
2. Go to the website and look at the map.
3. Figure out what food trucks you want to visit and where they are located
4. Know where your trucks are and have a plan.
5. Go early!
I was there before 4:00 and the lines were not too bad. At 4:30 some trucks had very long lines, and by 5:00pm it was pretty busy. Overall pretty neat to see all the trucks and variety of food, I just wish they offered smaller plates for less money so you could try more things. My wife and split food from two trucks and that was all we could eat. They could make the same amount of money and get the lines to move faster. It was HOT out there though. Someone should have had the fans that spray the mist and charge to stand in it. They would have made a fortune.
Agreed on all the above. Especially the small plates - they really need to make that happen. Will help in every respect - margins, wait times, participation, etc.
We got there about 3:30ish, camped around the trucks we wanted to go to, and had no issues with the first run. About 430 though as you say, things started to pick up and lines a couple dozen deep at some trucks started to form.
I arrived around 5:00 (I came back to Raleigh from a long distance trip via Amtrak) and decided to go since I was just down the street from the event. It was very busy. I stood in the line for the crepes truck for about 15 minutes and waited another 10 minutes to actually get the food I ordered. It was worth the wait though (very yummy). I would definitely get there ahead of time next time like North Raleigh Guy suggested. I wanted to try the Korean bbq truck but the line for that one was even longer!
Are the rodeos a summer event only or will they do another one in the fall?

Been meaning to go to these but every single time I miss it(in Fayetteville and was busy each time), since they seem so popular hopefully they will extend the amount of times they do it.
With the forecast in the low 80's and sunny...is it going to be crazy packed this Sunday at the Raleigh FT Rodeo?
We went to the Durham one, while it was packed, we were able to get food relatively easy.
