When I was taking care of my mom in Charlotte, my sister took me to this club downtown that had a latin dance night, and we had a blast! I'm looking for something like that in Raleigh. I checked the Salsa meetup, but some of their meetups are a little further away, like in Chapel Hill or Durham. Any here that meet up every week or so just to latin dance for a night or so? Thanks

This website looks to be a good reference - a couple places in Raleigh that have weekly Latin dancing.

Has anyone been to any of these and can vouch for which are the most fun/best drink specials?

I'm still holding out for anyone who can vouch for a good time salsa dancing!!! I'm afraid to show up to one of these without hearing about an experience first!

I've been dancing for several years and have had very few bad experiences. For the most part, the crowd is fun and welcoming to newcomers, so you would probably be fine showing up at any of the dances on the DanceGumbo list. I'm not much of a drinker, so I can't vouch for the drink specials. If you are looking for a combo of drinking/dancing, Carmen's on Tuesdays (or occasionally on Fridays or Saturdays) is a good bet. The dance on Thursdays at Cuban Revolution is a well established event, as well, though I've never been. If you are just looking to dance, I'd also recommend the socials on Sunday nights at Triangle Dance Studio. You may want to join the Triangle Salsa MeetUp group. It's an excellent resource for what's going on in the area.
