What's the closest the bus comes to Wake Forest? Does it travel up Capitol Blvd? Is there any transportation around WF? I looked at the website, but it's confusing to me since I don't live there yet.

I'm not aware of any bus service in the WF area. I believe the closest bus stop to WF is a CAT bus (route 25c that intersects Capital Blvd. at Perry Creek Rd. TTA doesn't go anywhere near WF. The most comprehensive resource for mass transit in the Triangle is this site: GoTriangle.org - Home

Right. 25c runs the loop around Triangle Town Center, Durant Road, and Perry Creek Rd.
Here's a pdf of the CAT route map. It is a BIG download:

I really wish TTA would put a new express route in that picked up in Wake Forest, Wakefield, Falls River/Bedford & Durant Trails and then went direct to RTP. Run the same route in reverse in the afternoons. I really think with the increasing congestion on Falls of Neuse and 540 that this would be a good move for TTA. Currently, the closest TTA comes to those areas in Raleigh and WF is near Milbrook Exchange Park.

CAT should also put in a WF to DT Raleigh express that only stops between the two town centers maybe twice, say at Triange Town Center and Mini City.

that's a great suggestion. If enough call the TTA they may look into it. Here is the contact info:

Email: CustomerService@rideTTA.org
For the hearing impaired: Dial 711 or (800)735-2962

No buses run in wake forest, as OP have said, the closest bus is about 8 miles? I think perry creek is about that distance from capital.

In general, the bus system is not the most comprehensive!

I just e-mailed them. For all the people that are interested in bus service, please e-mail to ask for service to Wake Forest. I said even if they have a central pick-up such as Wal-mart that would be great! Even if they add a shuttle service. I have a feeling that alot of people would use it, so they would have to send a bus.

Wishful thinking....but I don't see Wake Forest getting any public transportation....even within WF itself, for a long, long time.

I loved riding the bus when I lived in Germany...it was quick, cheap and convenient...but American bus systems don't seem to even be close.

I received an e-mail back and they said they are aware of the need to have bus service in that area. They said they have resource constraints at this time. They said they will be looking into it further. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
