Can anyone recommend a good podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon for bunion surgery?

I had a referral to Dr. Kerner and I will say that he impressed me. Decided against surgery at this time, but I'd go to him when the time comes.

I'm the same, just trying to hold off on surgery as long as possible. I'm definitely going with him when I move forward though.

Please anybody with so e answer reply or help in some way please
I noticed A lump on my big toe joint right leg last about halfway through September and got referred to a surgeon who has removed my ganglion cyst on wright wrist, but he referred me yo son orthodox specialist because symptoms are not those common for ganglion cysts. I'm seeing the new specialist in 11 days, in the meantime i'vecdone x-rays so he can get a good idea of what the lump is. But pain is getting worse, it is deep burning feeling, shoots up my entire foot I can hardly limp now I feel reall pain I take anti-inflammatory medication and alternate between hot and cold for the lump so I can get on with life! I don't know anybody with a similar experince I've been savaging the internet for answers and pain us so bad that I feel the need to rely on crutches because pain is that bad . It hurts to stand on it or to try to bend my toes upwards or downwards. There isl no discolouration on the lump itself, looks very slightly pinkish after a long day in shoes which is one of the hardest things I'm putting up with. Please anybody come across this provide any insightful input, it will help me a great deal.

With all due respect, I don't think this forum is the best place to seek medical advice. That's what doctors are for.

Orthopedic surgeons doing bunions is overkill. Get a Podiatrist. It is what they do all the time.

I don't agree with this at all. I will need this surgery in the next few years and there is no way I would go to a podiatrist.

I will be going to a foot specialist yes, but am I the on,y one who feels the need to use crutches or a flying carpet because the pain is unbearable and get a lot worse when I walk? I've had what you could call a primary diagnosis and getting a secondary one after x-ray examination to discuss my options & all but I posted in this forum so I can perhaps here from people with similar experiences & wether or not their pain was relatively close, less or perhaps more?
