Raleigh had their Christmas parade before Thanksgiving? That is a little odd. Seems like they might have it two weeks prior or so, no earlier. It was too warm and too early in my opinion.
It doesn't get much colder then this until January (if then)...so waiting for cold weather seems a bit odd to me.
The Christmas parade is always early...it's the start of the shopping season pretty much....if you wait until two weeks before Christmas, you've lost half of the season.
I recommend parking on one of side streets in the historic Cameron Park neighborhood. Then walk up to Hillsborough Street and pick your spot. In front of Char-Grill is our spot.
