Hi Everyone,

I moved here two months ago from Atlanta and I really love the area. I have applied for numerous positions and had two phone interviews, but nothing has materialized. There are a plethora of jobs in my field (Finance and Accounting) but nothing seems to be panning out. I really need a job ASAP.

I have gone over my resume several times, I had other people look at it as well and they think it is well written, yet I am not getting a good response.

Does anyone have any finance and accounting job contacts, or know of any positions available they would be willing to pass along?

I am looking for Manager or Sr. Financial Analyst level positions. I have 17+ years of experience and was most recently a Revenue Manager in Atlanta.

Thanks in advance!

Try a recruiting firm that specializes in finance jobs such as Robert Half.

Two months isn't really that long, considering how many people are applying for those same jobs (both local candidates and those who want to relocate). Competition is fierce here. A couple of years ago I somehow beat out over 400 applicants for an accounting manager job, which is just insane. It was the only interview I had in six months so I'm glad I got the job!

Thanks! I have tried them. Can't seem to get the recruiter to respond back to me. I plan to try someone else in the office.

I am seeing that. I will keep applying and pray something comes thru. In the meantime, I will look for other positions that could tide me over until I land what I am looking for. Thanks for responding.

Default Just landed a job myself. . .

It's taken me 10 months of posting resumes on sites, answering emails, phone interviews, putting on the suit and tie and having in-person interviews--all to no avail.

Two months is nothing, so be sure to stay very upbeat and positive. I had many good opportunities fall through and was really down. At the darkest, up came two offers in the same week and I actually had to choose.

It's hard, but be patient, be calmly upbeat, "yes, sir", "yes, ma'am", "anything you need", "happy to do it", etc. are the key phrases.

Instead of just contacting search firms directly, try to reach out to people they have hired--they might be able to direct you to people inside the company.

Also, there are meetup groups in Raleigh area. Join them, socialize, and network.

Best of luck!
