Hi Everyone,

well after our trip down to clayton last month we are very anxious to make the move...we're getting our home prepared to be put on the market and are anxiously awaiting my husbands retirement papers.....

anyways.....here's my ? I have suffered from Fibromyalgia - a pain sensory disorder for over 8 years and am on disability....I have seen over 20 or so dr over the years and have tried every medicine avail to regulate/maintaine the pain levels....gone in the hospital for epidural procedures etc.....

I have a wonderful physician now for the past 2 years who treats me as a human being and honestly cares.....I am at this point on some very strong pain maintenance medications....I know that some doctors will agree and others wont agree w/the regimen I have found to work (to some extent) but the best as of yet..

I need to know if anyone has or knows of anyone with this disorder and or a physician who treats it.....I did a random search and didnt come up w/much near Clayton so I'm going to contact the hospitals in the bigger cities and see if they have a dept that I can contact......

I am honestly scared to move w/out having a dr lined up that will work w/me because the pain is truly disabling......and I dont know how long I will be able to get prescriptions for once I leave the state....since I see my dr once a month.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....I want to make this move for the better of my family.......without my health its not going to better anyone...

thank you all in advance...

Suzanne

Have you asked your current physician if he knows of anyone? That would be my first try at finding a dr.

You may find you have to go to chapel hill or Raleigh or Durham for a specialist
