Can anyone recommend a great eye doctor in the area? Preferably someone who has patience.

I wear gas permeable contacts and the last doctor I tried had the hardest time fitting them correctly.

Location isn't important, but knowledge and temperament are.

My mom recently died (and yes, I just had a contact mishap). Understandably, I'm not up for dealing with a rude doctor right now.

Catherine Mauro at the Durham Costco. Recommended here frequently. I don't know if she does gas permeable.

After two other doctors failed, she went through 17 sets of starter contacts for me to find the right fit for mono vision contacts. Super nice, patient woman.
