I'd like to give my husband a series of shooting lessons as a gift. Does anybody have a recommendation for a shooting range that a) offers training and b) has guns (pistol, rifle, shotgun) for rental?

Preferably it would be on the Chapel Hill side of the Triangle, but anyplace within 40 miles would work--this includes Burlington and points west, too.

Thanks!

I recommend Eagle1 and Personal Defense and Handgun Safety Center, both in Raleigh. I have been to both, and the classes are great, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I was a 100%, complete and total NOVICE - I'd never shot a gun before. They really trained me very well.
