Hi,
I am looking for a new primary care doctor (preferably female) who is:

-smart
-well-trained
-knowledgeable about new research
-kind and has a warm bedside manner

Ideally I would like somebody who is not just out of residency. I have BCBS and can see pretty much any UNC or Duke doctor.

Thanks in advance!

I switched to Family Centered Healthcare in Hillsborough about a year ago after hearing so many people recommend it. I have liked it a lot. The doctor there, Dr. Vines, is a man, so that part doesn't fit your criteria, but his nurse practitioner, Heather Fayhee, would work. I have seen her for my well-woman exams, and seen him for other things. I like them both and am happy to see either of them.

The thing that I and others like a lot about this practice is that they really take their time with you and talk to you and are thorough and you don't feel like you are being rushed in and out (the way I always feel rushed at my daughter's specialist appts). The downside to this is that you frequently have a long wait before your appointment unless you get in first thing in the morning or first thing after lunch. If you have an appointment at the end of the day, expect to wait an extra hour to be seen.
